  • Bruce Posner

Lately, Bruce Posner has been offering a DVD where he talks about his knowledge of real estate. This DVD costs about $150 and was filmed at 83 Front Street, Brooklyn. Boxing fans may know that 83 Front Street is home to Gleason's Gym, the oldest active boxing gym in America.

You see, Bruce Posner is actually a boxing trainer. I guess that's why he shot his DVD there. Maybe he just wants to give you some boxing nostalgia while you're listening to him talk about foreclosures. I think his website should tell me exactly why he's such an expert on real estate foreclosures, if he's been training boxers for a living. The website doesn't make it entirely clear why Bruce Posner is qualified to give advice on this topic, beyond saying that he has "connections" in the foreclosure industry, and experience as an investor.

Bruce Posner's real estate tips and techniques are being marketed through a company called Platinum Acquisitions Inc. which is part of Real Estate Fortunes. The company's website claims Bruce Posner holds the "World Record In New York Real Estate". What they're actually bragging about is the fact that Bruce Posner was once the youngest New York real estate broker.

On his website, Bruce Posner claims that he will "spill his guts" on the DVD, sharing every real estate secret, technique, and tip he's picked up in the last 30 years. He will then take you by the hand and tell you how to do it, step by step, using "the same strategy/concept that professional boxers use to win championships". This guy really loves to mix boxing and real estate.

This is a novel idea and I guess getting trained in real estate by a boxing trainer has a certain appeal. But it seems more a novelty item than a serious strategy to get rich. Bruce Posner's website even asks the question: "Would you take investment advice from a boxing trainer?" Think about it.
